Hi, my name is Kory, and I would like to welcome you to the Reward Diet™ website.



After I reached the age of 30, I started gaining weight rapidly. I went from 175 lbs to 210 in about 18 months. I decided to do something about it. I found that there was a lot of information out there, and I had a hard time making heads or tails of any of it. Popular diet philosophies seemed to contradict each other. Products desperately tried to gain an edge over the competition by blowing meager scientific findings out of proportion.

While I consider myself knowledgeable on the subject, I am no expert on nutrition and dieting by any means (I am a web designer and programmer by trade). I decided to solve this problem by applying old-fashioned common sense to this all-too-common problem. I have read up on the subject extensively.

In the process, I concluded that there were some things I was willing to do to lose weight and some things I wasn't.

The things I was not willing to do:

  • There was no way that I was going to starve myself. A full stomach is essential to my emotional well-being.
  • I love food. Parting with my favorite foods for the rest of my life was out of the question.
  • I also didn't want to spend hours shopping for groceries for my special diet or spend ungodly amounts of time in the kitchen cooking for myself. I lack not only the skill, but also the willpower and the time.
  • I wasn't willing make calorie counting my new hobby. I knew that would drive me crazy.

Eventually, I managed to devise a method that avoided all of the pitfalls listed above, and achieved weight loss while enabling myself to keep it off in the long run. This was achieved by:

  • Making incremental changes to my lifestyle, and fully integrating them before taking it to the next level.
  • Rewarding myself with a “day off” from my routine that served as a carrot to help me get through the challenging days of dieting.
  • Making calorie counting a no-brainer by keeping track of what I ate with a software program using genuine nutritional data from Subway®.
